Al has 16 years' experience in social change, charities, and enterprise development. Before consulting, Al developed an enterprise for a Church, was research and strategy development manager at Oxfam, a change manager in a homelessness organisation, worked in a CVS, and had a spell in a research agency looking after the Unilever brands. Al holds a first degree in business, a post-graduate diploma in marketing, and trained in research with the Market Research Society. She is based in Oxford and London and is passionate about making a positive change in society and cycling.
Kate Sutton (MBA)
Kate has diverse experience across the Not For Profit, Commercial and Government sectors. Originally from New Zealand, Kate was an elected Councillor in Auckland City for six years and intimately understands the dynamics of local government, she has managed successful advocacy campaigns for some of New Zealand's largest charities and developed a consulting business training community members to engage in local government systems. Kate has worked in stakeholder relations and communications for New Zealand's largest property company and managed complex, multi-party, international development projects primarily in the Pacific Region. She has recently completed an MBA at Cranfield School of Management and thrives on working in the nexus between the public and private sectors.
Janet combines a distinctive blend of commercial and non-profit experience, with 20 years experience of sales and marketing in international business, setting up customer support bases in Hong Kong and the USA and developing experience and understanding of small enterprises and is now a very hands on trustee for the homeless charity SHOC, (Slough Homeless Our Concern), chairing the Fundraising & Marketing group. Janet specific expertise is in delivering effective, innovative and low cost marketing activities, managing funding applications and developing CRM, management and M&E databases.
Phoebe's background is in health, education, and hospitality in both public and private sectors. Phoebe is our research assistant and 'go to' person, she is based in Oxford and loves early morning exercise!
Steve’s background is in sales, marketing and business planning for Proctor and Gamble and United Biscuits where he was Export Sales and Marketing Director. Steve moved to the not-for-(personal) profit sector via a secondment to The London Enterprise Agency and went onto set up and lead the School Governors’ One-Stop Shop. He is a Fellow of the RSA and Companion of the Chartered Institute of Management.
Steve has 21 years’ experience of work across the third and statutory sectors offering community and organisational development support with two specialist interests: work to support community anchors and community assets; and work with refugee and migrant communities and service providers. Steve also has significant experience in working in mental health and is based in Manchester.
